   Do you think we should be more honest about what Christmas is really about?
   
   Through extensive research the validity of Christ's birth is more in question, commercialism is more apparent and we all know there's no such thing as Santa. The social mindset demands more honesty.

   It’s just a fact, Christ was not born on December 25th. Also, Christmas was in practice long before Christ’s birth as Saturnalia. I don’t care what people tell themselves, these truths aren’t in dispute and Christmas has been commercialized and it can’t be denied. It never was anything to do with Christ, that’s just how religious people explain why they can exhibit such blatant disregard for the tenants in the bible against greed and money-mongering.

      your confusing christmas and Saturnalia. just because they are celebrated on the same day doesnt make them the same celebration. my co workers B day is on valentines day. does that  mean her B day isnt really her B day?

      It’s historical fact. The Roman Catholics used the date of a popular celebration that had a huge following. Saturnalia. Christ could not have been born on Dec 25 because Shepherds were in the field. Mary came to Bethlehem for the census.

   There are people who don't have much of attraction on celebrations, gaga, extravaganza, wastage etc. They are in a woeful minority.
   
   There are people who want to enjoy festivals, birthdays, special occasions, and events causing mass fever! They are the majority. Eat, drink, be merry, spend money (even by borrowing) and waste money -- that's what they love.
   
   You can never change this mass mania by cold logic.

   The calendar has been changed many times over the centuries to appease many who wanted to modify the society.
   Christmas is celebrated as Christ's Mass to celebrate the glorious kingdom that began when Christ led his 12 disciples.
   Man is limited by his inability to reach beyond the physical science and so does not possess the skills to actually determine when any specific thing occurred.  This is due to the use of interpretation rather than fact. 
   While you state that there is no Santa, you cannot actually prove this because there are many instances where individuals, adult and child, receive gifts without knowing who or what brought them.  So, does Santa exist - as charitable individuals who personally provide for others?
   If the social mindset demands more honesty, then we must look deeper into those areas where science cannot.  We must seek the moral principles initiated by Jesus as he taught us the righteous path to the Glory Kingdom. 
   This is the greatest present of all.
   May God present you with the wisdom to seek this righteousness.

   Most people do not want honesty, they just want to be comforted by a sense of belonging to a majority. That is why most people don't want to know about history, just about how it benefits them.
   
   In my research, Christmas was chosen as the best time to celebrate Christ because it represented several concepts that were already being practiced. The most important of which was the celebration of the winter solstice. http://christianityasamysteryreligion.c … oltice.htm
   
   Today since Economics has overridden Religion as the main operating system Christmas has become economically driven.
